Introducing Steinway SPIRIO - the world's first high resolution player piano that enables you to enjoy performances captured by the world's great pianists - played with such nuance, power and passion that they are indistinguishable from their original live performances.
"I am really excited about SPIRIO because now we can not only study Horowitz on the record but on the piano iteslf. This is going to be a new era for pianists and for music education. It's a new technological milestone." Lang Lang, Steinway Artist & Global Music Ambassador
Steinway's history of building player pianos goes back well over a century to the late 1800's and early 1900's when the player piano with music recorded on paper rolls was the in-home entertainment of the time. The first heyday of the player pianos was during this period, but was eventually diminished by the advent of the radio, the phonograph and then television.
In the 1980's and 1990's, the player piano started an incredible revival with new technology and mediums for saving the live recorded performances, like the casette, then floppy disc/CD and finally devices like an Apple iPad.
SPIRIO is the result of extensive Steinway research and development of proprietary technology to create a factory-installed player system with incredible features, many unique to Steinway.
The Steinway SPIRIO player piano comes with all the options included free: Apple iPad, app to access entire music library, matching adjustable bench, complete initial service package and manufacturer's warranty of five years parts and labor on the entire piano and integrated player system.
